Pastor Ervin Best

Reverend Ervin S. Best, Founder and Pastor of the Kingdom Word Center in Reidsville, North Carolina, is the son of Eldress Evorn Best and the late Reverend. W.J. Best, Sr. of Greenville, North Carolina, and the sibling of three brothers and three sisters. Pastor Best comes from a lineage of pastors.

Pastor Best is a native of Greenville, North Carolina. His early education was in Pitt County Schools where he received his high school diploma in 1986. He continued his education at North Carolina Central University where he received his B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice. After college, Pastor Best enlisted in the United States Army and served four years, enduring the Desert Storm War. Pastor Best attended Apex Theological School and Hood Theological Seminary.

In 1994, GOD blessed him with the greatest gift he could receive in the person of his wife, Porcia Stokes Best. Her passion, zeal and inspiration for GOD are tremendous assets to the body of Christ at large. They have been married for twenty-nine years. They have three children, Jeffery Scott, Bianca Best, and Brianna Best Parker, along with three beautiful grandchildren, Summer, Zion, and Malachi.

Pastor Best received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age. Since that time, GOD has been preparing him for such a time as this. In 2003, Pastor Best recognized and accepted GOD’s call to the ministry to preach and teach the Word of GOD. He preached his initial sermon in 2003 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, in Reidsville, North Carolina. Later, he served as the Associate Minister at St. Stephens, Hayes Chapel, and Withers Chapel United Methodist Church in Rockingham and Stokes Counties. In 2004, Pastor Best became the full-time pastor of Lovells Chapel United Methodist Church in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, where he pastored for 4 1/2 years. In 2009, Pastor Best returned to Madison, North Carolina where he became the pastor of Beulah Baptist Church for 12 1/2 years. Various new ministries were formed under his leadership. During his tenure of pastorship, multiple architectural improvements were made to the edifice.

Pastor Ervin S. Best has been ministering for over 20 years. In March of 2022, he became the "Founder and Senior Pastor" of The Kingdom Word Center in Reidsville, North Carolina. Pastor Best continues to use his gifts to equip and enable GOD’s people to do the work of the ministry. He feeds the sheep the Word of GOD so they can continuously grow and no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes (Eph. 4:14 ESV).

Pastor Best's desire as a church, is to be within the community proclaiming the Word of Christ and providing good deeds whenever possible to the community. As a visionary, he has established a youth ministry and a community marriage enrichment ministry to strengthen the foundation of youth and Christian marriages.

Pastor Best is a man who loves GOD, GOD’s people, and His Word. He enjoys family time, resting, studying, and learning whatever he can to share with others. He enjoys preaching and teaching the Word of GOD with power, conviction, and simplicity at every opportunity that avails without compromise.

For GOD told the Prophet Jeremiah; "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you, ordained you a Prophet to the nations" (Jer 1:5; 29:11 NKJV).
